About seven years ago, Dick Gimigliano and his wife Theo were sitting on a clothing-optional beach in the Caribbean on St. Martin. They watched as a florida yacht charter dropped anchor and a naked man and woman came ashore in their dinghy. They bought something to eat, reboarded the yacht and sailed away.Gimigliano (wearing a bathing suit) photographed the vessel, idly thinking that the couple may have been members of the rich and famous set, although neither one looked familiar. When he decided to become a broker for yacht charters four years ago, Gimigliano discovered that the ship was one of many in the Caribbean’s rental pools. Those nonchalant visitors to the beach hadn’t owned that yacht after all. They’d rented it.It’s easy enough to sample the rich and famous lifestyle, according to Gimigliano, whose Pittsburgh Company, Yachting Adventures, puts prospective sailors in touch with yachts. Gimigliano specializes in rentals in the Caribbean, but has access to yachts around the world.
