I can’t believe it. Middle of winter, and my water heater burst. Right after the holidays, too – hardly the time I wanted to start shopping for a hot water heater. Ah well, you take it as it comes I guess. So now, I’m finding myself in the middle of a search for the best water heater. I can’t decide between a traditional tank style or one of the new tankless models. The tankless design sounds like it makes a lot of sense, since it only heats the water as you need it – not all day long, which should be more power efficient. I just can’t get over the idea that there isn’t a supply of hot water waiting for me to use whenever I need it. Can someone who has a tankless water heater give me some feedback? How quickly do you get hot water, and have you ever run out in the middle of something important, like a hot shower?
