Geothermal heating systems are showing great promise, especially in this day of “green” solutions. Geothermal heating uses the heated water from deep within the earth. This water is then circulated throughout the house resulting in a nice, even heat. This heating technique results in higher humidity than regular heating methods. Geothermal heating systems are also gaining traction in other applications. Kits are now being sold to heat swimming pools. Former President George W. Bush has converted his Crawford, Texas ranch to completely geothermal. The Texas plains are an ideal location for a geothermal heating system as the thermal activity is much closer to the earth’s crust than most geographic locations.
