Posted by Terri,

I bought a home in the old part of the city and when they were built, some were made with flat roofs. The attached garage has a flat roof, also. I was interested in replacing them to be more energy-efficient. In order to install new flat roof insulation in both the house and the garage, I plan on using rigid insulation board made of expanded polystyrene on my roof deck. After talking with a professional, I have found that I should use light-colored pebbles on top to reflect the sunlight and heat in the summer months. I love remodeling my half-century old home.

Rainy season is fast approaching and there are a lot of dips on our roof right now. And I am thinking of replacing our flat roof insulation, because I don’t want to damage all the stuff I’ve invested.

We have an ancient house that was passed through many generations. And we are planning to renovate the roofing system; this includes changing our flat roof insulation. Of course I need to do a bit of research and find someone to do this for me…
