Until recently I always lived in the city. I never considered getting a water filtering device until I left home and attended college. The university that I attended had terribly hard water. At the time I did not know if it was a result of corroded pipes or if the city’s water was just that hard. Later I found out that the water was 30 ppm which is off the charts! My roommate and I used a brita water filters to make the water more enjoyable. I never thought that I would need to filter city water. I thought that filters were needed only for well water. Boy, was I ever wrong.
