We have lived in our house for almost ten years, In this time, we have never had our air conditioner unit serviced. When I went to change the filter in the Trane Air Handler, the filter had not been installed correctly and had allowed dirt and dust to get sucked in the unit. We definitely needed to do something to fix it. We ended up calling the service technician to come out and clean our unit. The coils inside the unit were disgusting. There was no light coming through the coils at all. After cleaning the coils, the fan unit was actually blowing the air through the vents at a higher volume than I had ever noticed.
