One of the best ways you can add a bit of spice, style and variety to your home without emptying your bank account is to put out a few decorative pillows and throws in your lounge and bedrooms. Many people have accent pillows in their home, but often they just seem to blend into the background because they are bland, ordinary and allover dull. However, if you are an imaginative kind of person you can be creative with these old, dull pillows and use them as the basis for creating, new vibrant decorative pillows capable of transforming a room bringing sparkle and elegance with less effort than you would think. Making these pillows is not difficult to do. No-one knows your home as well as you do so, by using your own creativity and choosing new materials in silk, leather and cotton matching your own designs you can come up with a truly startling effect in your room displaying your personality and resourcefulness to the very best. Just imagine how a vibrant silk pillowcase covering an old, bland pillow will give lift and style to your furniture, sofa or bedroom.

My sister has a fantastic display of pillows on her sofa. There are so many it’s almost impossible to sit down. But, they are very colorful making her cream leather sofa really stand out as a feature in the room. She also has 8 pillows on her bed along with two teddies and a lavender bag. They look really cute and add a focal point to the bedroom whenever you walk in.

Thanks for making me think that no-one knows my home as much as I do. I’m looking at decorating right now and you’ve made me think that pillows needs to play a big part in my plans. I’ve only had a few up until now that I got from my Mom. I like the idea of placing silk and leather pillows in strategic parts of my rooms.

I’ve recently visited my cousin’s house for the first time and was really impressed with her arrangement of decorative pillows. She has them in nearly every room in the house. She told me they are a great way of changing the look and feel of her home quickly and easily. She keeps a store of pillows to use at different time in the year. A set for summer, another set for winter.

I’ve recently bought some decorative pillows for my lounge. They are based on the square euro pillow design and look really lovely. I’ve not thought much about using pillows before. I’ve had a couple but didn’t really consider them a major part my decoration plan. But buying these new pillows has made me think about getting a few more for the bedroom.

My Mom makes lots of great things with her sewing machine. I asked her if she could make some new shams for my old pillows and she said she could. So we went out and bought some nice bright material and Mom has made me a brand new set of shams that look really lovely on my old pillows. I’m really pleased with the new look it’s given to my room.

I’m so pleased I read this. It made me realise something needed doing to brighten up my lounge. I’ve gone out and bought 6 new pillows. 3 of them are in a bright red pattern and the other 3 are bright blue. What a difference. My lounge looks much fresher now. What a great tip.

I’ve had my sofa pillows for years as well. Now I come to look at them they are drab and dull so maybe it’s time I did something with them. They are in quite good condition generally so it may be all I need to do is to buy some new, bright covers for them. I’m not very handy at making things so buying new ones is the best way to go for me.

This is very helpful. I’ve got a couple of old pillows on my sofa that I’ve had for years. They’ve just sort of been there and I’d not thought about smartening them up. Thanks for giving me to idea to go out and look for some new covers for them. I like the idea of using a silk pillowcase to give my sofa a boost.
