One of the most uncomfortable things to get is hemorrhoids. It’s painful and makes bowel movements a pain. Not to mention that in the case that they get ruptured, you also have to deal with the fear of infection. But what causes hemorrhoids? Well, hemorrhoids, or piles as they’re sometimes called happen when a vein or group of veins in the anal canal have become inflamed and swell up. The factors which lead to this inflammation are: a diet low in fiber, constipation, diarrhea, pregnancy, obesity, genetics, anal sex, and sitting too long in the toilet.
When this said inflammation occurs, you should immediately medical help. What the doctors do is that if the hemorrhoids are not that serious, they will just probably recommend ointments, cream or suppositories. For those who are unaware what a suppository is, it’s a pill which is inserted through the anal canal and not something which you pop into your mouth. For more serious hemorrhoids, doctors would usually recommend undergoing sclerotheraphy, an endovenous treatment which is also used to get rid of spider veins.
And so, while what causes hemorrhoids has not been really confirmed, rest assured that the way to treat it has been.
