The great thing about crate covers is that they will transform your dog’s metal crate into a safe and comfortable “bedroom” environment. The cover will snugly wrap around your dog kennel, and it does leave the door area open, giving your dog the feeling of being in the security of a den. This is great because it protects your dog from kennel related injury the same way bumper pads protect a baby in a crib and providing a more comfortable place for your dog. Dog Crate Covers provides excellent articles and and resources which enables you to give more to your dog.

Keep your dog smiling

Posted by Emelina,

I have a large dog and love his personality, enthusiasm and most of all his loyality. But a few months ago my dog started to change - he no longer had his zeal for life, he was lethargic and got aggressive. At first I didn’t know why, I thought it was just a phase, but it just carried on. I wanted to know why did my dog change, was it something I did, was it something I needed to do? I began my research and read some articles at Dog Beds For Large Dogs. It mentioned how having the wrong sized bed can really effect your dog. At first I was a little unsure, but I thought I’d give it a shot because I wanted my dog back. And it really worked! Ever since I bought a large dog bed, he’s energies increased, he’s back to his old self again, the website gave me some great tips in how to maximise my dogs happiness.

How to train a german Shepherd

Posted by Magan,

So, you have a brand new puppy home and you are wondering how to train a German Shepherd? There are several benefits to training your pet. An important point to note is that the more you teach your dog the more he will learn. Start with the basics like sit, stand, fetch and heel. Once he has the basics down pat, many new commands, games and tricks will be easy to teach. And he will learn it faster too. A dog that know a lot of commands is almost like a human companion as he knows and understands what his master wants better than an untrained pet. The key to German Shepherd training is to do it systematically

Housebreaking an older dog

Posted by Paola,

Housebreaking an older dog is no different from potty training a puppy. Only problem that can arise is if your adult dog has been messing inside the house he will be reluctant to do it outside. As he has more bladder control than a puppy he may hold it in longer and as soon as you bring him back home he may go to his usual corner to empty his bladder and bowels. Don’t be disheartened by this. You will need a lot of patience and commitment to take your dog to the same spot every day until he gives in to his urges. Stay out say 20-30 minutes. Once he has finished his work pet him and praise him. Do this every day after every meal. He should be trained in a few weeks time.

Labrador puppies have easy and playful disposition. Labradors are very friendly dogs. Start Labrador retriever puppy training as early as possible. This will make it easier for you to get them to obey you.Your retriever puppy will need time, effort and patience to be trained. It can not be done piece meal or when you feel like it. If the puppy dog training is not consistent it is likely to get confused and not understand your commands. Try to use same tone of voice and set of words for one type of task. For example praise can be in one voice and followed by a small treat and command not to do something should be more firm and should not be followed by any treat.

German Shepherd potty training

Posted by Fermina,

A crate is an important part of German Shepherd potty training. Give your German Shepherd puppy a crate as soon as he comes home. He will need to be fed every 2 hours. Immediately take him out of the house let him do his business. This may take about 10 minutes. Immediately put him in the crate and give him a toy to play with.

You will need to do this every 2 hours for the 3-4 days. In the next few days increase this time period by an hour. By the middle of second week increase the time by half hour. If he doesn’t finish urinating in 10 minutes you put him out give him another 10 minutes. If he still doesn’t do it then put him in the crate immediately.

They don’t like to soil their crate and so will not urinate. But accidents can happen, as they still don’t have complete bladder control. Clean the crate and continue as before. Within a month or so they should be fully potty trained.

As veterinarians are getting better about diagnosing and treating diseases in animals, dogs are living longer and longer. That means there are more dogs living with chronic but treatable medical conditions. Because of this, the need for Diabetic Dog Food is greater than ever. Check any specialty veterinary supply shop or have a look online. You’ll find several options for purchase and even recipes allowing you to make your own. Since you can’t be sure what store-bought dog foods contain, making your own is probably a good idea. Choose high-quality ingredients — things you’d eat yourself — and limit the amount of sugary items included. That will make you and Rover happy.

Potty training my puppy

Posted by Lonny,

I want help potty training my puppy is a common refrain heard in forums and discussion boards. Less than 2-month-old puppies are too young to understand commands. Potty training can be started the day you bring the puppy home when it is 2 months or older. Use a crate to help in potty training. Let the crate be the dog’s home. After his every meal take him out of the crate and leave him out in the yard.

Bring him once he is finished doing his business about 10 minutes and put him back in the crate. Bring him and put him the crate. Do this after every meal and every day slowly increasing the gap to 3 hours first week and then 4 week after that. Within 4 weeks he should be fully potty trained.

Don’t be in a hurry as your puppy is still young and needs time and understanding to get bladder control. Help the Labrador to get used to all manners of noises and sounds. Your vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, vehicles, washing machines, dryers, door bells, car horns etc.

If introduced to these sounds early they are likely to accept it as part of their environment and not get nervous when they hear these noises later on.

Good Dragon Tips

Posted by Cinda,

There are three major causes of bearded dragon impaction . First and foremost is the kind of food that your bearded dragon eats dog doors. Foods that are too large can cause impaction because they cannot move well in the digestive tract. As a general rule to ensure that what you feed to your pet is small enough and will not cause blockage, the food should fit between space between the bearded dragon’s eyes. In addition, feeding your bearded dragon too much insect with hard chitin shells like mealworms, large crickets, and superworms can also increase the risk of bearded dragon impaction, especially when the dragon is not yet fully developed.

The more you interact with dogs the more they will learn. Socializing with other humans will help them to get tuned to human emotions and commands and they will automatically become more responsive to instructions and commands. Training your Beagle

Posted by Eleonora,

Beagles training can be tricky, but they are quick to train if you begin when they are still young. But, don’t start when they are too young and have no bladder control or understand your commands.

Having a well-trained beagle puppy is very rewarding. Beagles are some of the most loyal and most beloved dogs all over the world. Beagle is a small breed dog. They have short legs and floppy ears, which are soft to touch. Beagles are often characterized as being stubborn to train.

That’s because some people wait until adolescence to start their training which is much too late.

There are so many different brands of foods for dogs in the supermarket which makes choosing very hard. Dont get carried away with the glossy packaging. Try to aviod things like corn and gluten. Look for protein rich foods because they will help keep your dog healthy. Also try to avoid anything artificial like flavours, colorings or sweeteners. The best type of food is natural. Giving you dog raw meat is healthy for them. The bones help them keep their teeth clean. Remember your dog is your best friend so dont just buy the cheapest or nicest looking box of food. Take care your dog and he will be healthier and happier. Great Dane Puppies are my favourite dogs and I always feed my dogs raw meat and bones. They cant get enough.

Deciding whether or not it would be a good idea to install a dog door for your pet is an important decision that requires you to consider many factors. One of the most important things to consider is the safety of your property, as well as the safety of your pet, of course.  Also, if you have a dog, is your dog the type of pet that can be outside the home without any supervision? Is your home or your neighborhood a good place for your dog to wander around freely? All of these factors must be considered before you decide to buy and put in a dog door in your house. A dog door is a flap normally attached to a door that leads to the outside of the house. It operates on hinges or with springs. Some pet doors are even provided with magnetic closures so that the flap cannot open so easily. There are also electronic pet doors available, which are more costly, and use electric signals coming out of a collar to open the pet door only for the animal wearing that particular collar.
