Vermicomposting uses earthworms and organic waste to create a rich, healthy, organic compost.  Many people who use this method will add wet (organic) kitchen waste, boxes, and even newspapers to their compost.  This gives them a wonderful, organic supply of composted soil for their gardens, and it also has the potential to reduce upto 1/3 of their trash removal needs.  They use this compost to grow healthy food producing plants in their personal gardens.  Vermicomposting is a way to produce healthier foods, save on your trash removal bill, and help the environment all in one!  Such a simple process contributes a great deal to our environment!

It is a good idea to ensure that you choose the correct size of pot. This may sound very obvious, but it is easy to under estimate how much, or in a rare case, how little growth a plant will put on in one season. You must remember to keep in mind the plant’s needs when purchasing a pot, some might like to be pot-bound, and whether you will be able to fit in all the plants you want for a display and allow them room to settle. If you plan to pot a more permanent display, that is one that will last more than one season, find out the long-term size that the plant may reach, or consider that you may need to pot it on.

A number of years ago, I made the mistake of buying one of those prefabricated sheds and just putting it on some cinder-blocks.  I thought it would be okay for the light use that I would be making of the space, but it wasn’t the best idea.  Now however, I am looking to build my own shed, and what I need is some help figuring out the foundation for shed, so that things don’t go badly this time with my extra, outside storage space like what happened last time.  Thankfully, there is plenty of information online that is very helpful, so hopefully I’ll be able to do things right the first try.

I really need some better garden supplies.  Everything I have is old and broken, but by this summer for sure, I am going to get some new equipment.  I could really use a new rototiller.
