Do you want to lose a lot of weight, build a lot of muscle, or both? If so, you are in luck because there are cheap home gyms available and they are very effective. Most people find that after using them for a very short period of time, they see a lot of results. The problems that people have are not the machines themselves, but the fact that they don’t make use of them. It’s really a shame, because they do a lot for you. It doesn’t matter if you get a Cybex fitness center or a Powertec home gym either.

Elliptical machines are known for providing a wonderful all-over cardio workout, but they can be very expensive if you purchase them new. It makes much more sense to look for used elliptical machines. To find a good machine, you can check out local sources such as yard sales in your neighborhood or the classified ads in your local newspaper. On-line sources, such as Craig’s list or e-bay, may also allow you to get an excellent bargain. Often, used machines are in very good condition, especially if their previous owners used them very little. In fact, used machines can cost less than half of what you would pay for a new machine.

The static bike was the most common machine in use by people who wanted to exercise at home or in inclement weather. The treadmill gradually replaced the static bike but its high cost is a constraint. The treadmill gave full exercise to the leg and thigh muscles in stimulated walking and running conditions. It was not designed to cater to the actual requirement of muscles of the legs and thighs while walking and running. In any case, because of its heaviness, treadmills were generally used only in gymnasiums. The cross trainer is a machine designed and produced after a thorough study of the functioning of the thigh and leg muscles of a person, while walking and running at different speeds. Cross trainers are of recent origin and are in use only during the last 20/30 years. Cross trainers have the advantage over treadmills, because they are built for different types of users, the cost also varying accordingly. It has hand operated and or motor operated with speed control models with adjustable inclines. Low priced cross trainers for sale are for domestic use whereas the heavier models with higher price are for use by the general public in gymnasiums, etc.

You should also take a look at the specialty of each cycling camp that you’re considering. Some cycling camps focus on endurance. They have special programs that can help cyclists endure long treks better. Other camps on the other hand have more rigorous programs than the others. This is for those people who are really into cycling and are thinking of becoming professional cyclists using portable exercise bike. It really depends on your reason for cycling. Before enrolling in a cycling camp, make sure that you know everything about them. Do a little background search and find out if they are really good at what they do. Look at the programs more closely. Not all cycling camps have the same programs. Take a deep look at what these programs can do for you. Make sure that you know what you are paying for and that you are aware of the physical requirements of each program.

The best gym workouts, then, are the ones that can burn calories and fat while building muscle at the same time. This means resisitance training, preferably at a high intensity, until your muscles start to ache. This is where the good, old-fashioned rowing machine comes in. So next time you’re at the gym, head straight to the rowing machine. When done properly the rowing machine will elevate your heartrate, work your legs, your arms, and your core muscles. Make sure you drive hard with your legs, exploding through the middle of your stroke, then lean back will keeping the wire taut. This will work your calves, quads, hamstrings, glutes and abs. Finally pull back on the grip. This works your forearms, triceps, lats and pecs. And all the while, you’ll be pushing your heartrate up to its’ maximum fat burning rate!

For home gyms, it is critical to install the correct exercise mat for the equipment that will be installed. There are many interlocking mats, as well as mats designed for weight machines, which will not only protect your flooring, but yield the ideal level of cushioning for the equipment you have. The interlocking systems can be customized to your particular needs, and offer durability and superb shock absorption. Other desirable features in these mats include anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, rot and mildew resistant surfaces which are easy to clean, and even easier to transport, often offering accordion style folds and Velcro fastening systems. With just a little research, and a bit of shopping, you can find the ideal exercise mat for your workout needs. Take the time, and possibly spend the extra few dollars to ensure the most enjoyable and safest workout you can have, with the correct mat.
Posted by Markus,I can’t believe what an incredible deal I got on gym equipment for my home gym. I have been thinking about converting my basement into a personal training studio, but you can imagine how expensive some of the equipment can be. Fortunately for me, a club not far from where I live went out of business. There was some kind of bankruptcy involved, which ended up with me being able to buy some of the best gym fitness equipment on the market for next to nothing. My studio looks more professional than I could have imagined. I already have a decent list of clients. Believe me, having the best fitness weights and machines makes a big difference.

You can save a lot of money by buying a used elliptical machine. But, there can be some big negatives. For example, most manufacturer warranties are not transferable.
A remanufactured unit is taken apart all the way down to the frame. Then, it is sand blasted and repainted. All of the original parts are reinstalled, unless they are too worn or broken. The manufacturer will probably throw in a 90 day “new” warranty, but you better read the fine print.
You are better off to find a factory refurbished elliptical, which is a newer model that was used, but refurbished by the manufacturer which will give it a full new price warranty. But, even then there will likely be lots of restrictions.
Try checking Craigslist in your home town for a used machine because then you can actually try it out before you commit your money. There still won’t be any warranty to speak of, but at least you can feel and touch the elliptical before you waste your money.
The great thing about a rowing machine, outside of the fact that it gives you a great, two-fold workout at the same time, is the fact that a typical rower is very durable. This means that there will be plenty of existing rowers for sale. This is a great way to pick up a rower at a very good price. With a rowers durability, you can be sure that even a used rower will likely last you as long as you will need or want it to. One of the best places to find a used rower would be either online, a used sports equipment store, of even a pawn shop.

Eliptical Machines have been a very popular piece of fitness equipment for many years for one reason, they get results and are easy to use. An overweight person can very easily with consistent use lose many kilograms of weight by using an Eiptical Machine every day. The idea is to work at a pace where your heart rate is elevated slightly more than normal. Low intensity is better than nothing but a higher intensity workout is preferable. Always check with you doctor before starting an exerciseworkout plan for advice on your heart rate limitations. If you want to double the effectiveness of your eliptical machine training program then adjust your diet to include these 4 things.
1. Less sugar -no coke,fanta,pepsi
2. More water – drink 1-3 litres a day
3. More protein – Eat more foods like Beef, chicken, fish.
4. Eat healthy fats – like flaxseed oil, fish oil, but oils.

I hear this question many times in the gym and the answer is all of them. But it really depends on the intensity of your workout. Some machines are more intense and therefore will help you lose weight quicker. Elliptical machines are great beacause they use your whole body. Any piece of equipment that uses your whole body and also raises your heart rate is good. Maybe u find some Treadmills For Sale at the loca store and buy one but unless you use it regularly with a high intensity it wont do you any good. It may just end up as a clothes rack. Choose your machine then train hard with high intensity, that is when u will see dramatic results

I have been meaning to get back into exercise for a long time and I keep stopping and starting and one thing that has become clear is that I need to enjoy the exercise I am doing other wise I will not do it. I think when it comes to getting the best exercise bike for my individual needs I need to be looking for one that not only burns calories but that tones both the upper body and lower body to. When I was younger I was very well toned and I would like to be that way again, so may be something like a dual action bike will be appropriate.
