A prince2 project management course can be useful in learning about the approach for and rationale behind the PRINCE2 project management methodology. This approach to project management has many fans, but also many critics. Critics say that the approach is too rooted in theory and that it fails to account for the effects of the more subtle human interactions that drive projects. Either way, the approach to project management is used largely just in Western European countries and in Australia. It was developed in the information technology world within the British government in the late 1980s and has evolved through a series of changes since. Most view it as practical only when applied to larger scale projects.
